About Freedom Ragdolls

Our Vision

Freedom Ragdolls is located in Basehor, Kansas. Our small cattery operates out of our home, allowing all of our cats and kittens to roam freely and experience everyday life with us, our small children, and our German Shepherd.   Our kittens are exposed to loud noises (vacuum cleaners and hair dryers), lots of playtime (we have three girls), and loads of snuggles (we LOVE cats) until they are ready to join their furever homes.

All of our cats are registered with TICA so you know you are getting the best of the best!

At Freedom Ragdolls we are known for an unparalleled commitment to our cats, kittens and customers. Our cattery is FIV, FELV, and HCM negative. Each of our kittens come with a written health guarantee, appropriate vaccinations and are dewormed.

We highly encourage in home visits to our cattery.  We want you to see how our cats and kittens are raised and cared for.

Purrfect matches are important to us!

Ragdoll History

The Ragdoll breed was introduced in the early 1960’s in California when Ann Baker combined the best of three known breeds: Persians, Bermans, and Burmese. She developed what was to become a new breed known for going limp in your arms like a child’s rag doll.

Ragdoll Kitten Physical Traits

They are large-boned and considered semi-longhaired. Their fur is soft like a bunny rabbit's and does not matte like most long-haired cats. Ragdolls tend to shed less than other cats.

Ragdoll Kitten Personality

Ragdolls are best known as “the dog of the cat world”. They are not like the typical felines that can often be finicky and independent. Ragdolls prefer to be around people and will follow you around the house. They will even run to the door when the doorbell rings!

Ragdolls are very laid back and docile  and they prefer not to be left alone for more than 24 hours. Keep this in mind if you are going to be away from home for long periods of time.

In fact, Ragdolls are so docile towards humans and other animals that are INDOOR CATS ONLY! They do not possess the natural feline instinct to protect themselves.
